I have been publishing in FP 2003 for a little over a year and enjoy it's
simplicity.
My challenges with FP are the underscore files it creates - _vti_cnf etc.
My web host is telling me to delete these files, that they aren't necessary
and actually deactive my site, which causes me to lose 3hrs work each time I
have to do this. Having numerous sites, I'm getting frustrated. Any help?
ideas?

Thanks

DO NOT DELETE THEM!! Your web host has no idea what they are talking about.
Those files are part of the FrontPage Server Extensions and if you delete
them the extensions won't work, If you host says they will NOT be
supporting the FrontPage Server Extensions then you can delete them. After
that look for a new host.

How are you publishing your site to the live/remote server, via FP's http mode or FTP?
