I am trying to publish a page and when I go to publish...I enter
the site url and it says...............

The local and remote webs cannot be the same location. Please enter a unique
location.
Am not sure what to do...

You are right. That is what I am doing wrong but not sure how to fix it.
Whenever I go to open that file to publish it, it changes to the remote.

Any way to bypass that so I can just open the file on my puter so I can
publish it?

Open FrontPage.
If it automatically opens the remote web, click File > Close Web. ( Close
Site in FP 2003 )
Then click File > Open web. ( Open site in FP 2003 )
In the open web dialog, click on Network Places and a list should appear.
Mouse over the entries and when one of them starts with C:\ or if using IIS
the one that you know is your local web, click to open it.
