I have three sites on the go at the moment. I have the intranet site I work
on which is on my computer, I then publish this onto the company server which
is used nationally throughout our regional offices. I also have a testsite
(on the server) onto which I have been adding a new section. Which is the
best way to publish? Testsite to the Intranet on my computer and if this is
OK onto the live site? Or directly onto the live site and then synchronise
that with my own version?

Which option should i use? Sychronise, local to remote or remote to local?

I have initially tried to publish the testsite to my personal intranet copy
but it will not publish!

Unless Testsite is identical to and matches both your both your local and server sites (except for the new content) publishing to
either is probably asking for trouble (unless you have integrated / tested the new content and then publish it to live server)

In FP 2003 you can use selective file publishing to add your new content from testsite to your local site
- or File Import the new content into your local from testsite

IMHO

If you are going to run a 3rd (test) site
- set it up from your local and mark the new content in it to not publish (until you are ready),
- when ready mark the new content as Publish and publish from testsite to local

When publishing always remember
Local - your currently open web in FP
Remote - your other FP web that you do not have open in that session of FP
So Local to Remote or Remote to Local depends on which site you want to update from / to

Synchronize -
FrontPage will compare the files in the local Web site to the published files in the remote Web site & If it detects a newer version
of a file on your local Web site, it will begin a synchronization to update both the local and remote Web sites unless you specify
otherwise
(use with caution)
