Publishing Web Updates

Need advise on updating a website for a boys and girls soccer program using
Frontpage 2003. To-date the site has been maintained by one person. Going
forward a person will be responsible for the boys and site and another for
the girls site. The root directory has a main page and images that will
remain static. The respective web pages are stored in a separate "boys" and
"girls" sub-directory. What issues should we be concerned about when
performing the updates? If each person only updates files in their directory
will that work? What publishing option should be used (i.e., "local to
remote" or "synchronize")? Are there any potential problems if each person is
using a different version of Frontpage?

The website is: www.coltsoccer.com

Thanks!

John

Consider making the boys and girls directories, subwebs instead of just folders...IF your host allows for subwebs/sites.

I agree with Rob.

I also maintain a soccer website. The site has an Academy that was handled
by another person. We used the subweb method.

When doing so, you each only see your website that you are working on. One
of you will have to handle the common area and communicate so that only one
of you updates this area.

Disadvantage:
The problem is that you both must know the password for the server (you may
not be able to have separate passwords... not sure; therefore, you both must
trust each other). He who can work on the subweb has the power to also
download the full website, therefore, you guys can sabatoge the site.

My isssue was this and may not pertain to you.
My server login lets me see several websites that I maintain. Therefore,
the other person may gain access to all my sites. Eventually I pulled his
site into mine but still maintain a subweb in case it splits apart again
later.
