Publishing web - server error. 'admin'

I am publishing a web site that has given me no trouble
in times past. I have not modified the site. I get the
message
"server error. 'admin' does not refer to a page or folder
in this web. It may be a page or folder in a subweb.or it
could be a badly formed URL.

Does anyone know what is going on.

Thanks

Contact your host and ask them to run a check on the extensions.

Hi,

Hope you don't mind me joining this thread. I have the exact same problem -
same error message. I *did* contact my host today (by phone) and they ran a
check on the extentions - they are enabled and the tech support person was
able to get to the site fine from his computer.

Frontpage will also not allow me to try to edit the site when I'm there on
IE and try to use the File / "Edit with Frontpage" command. Nothing at all
happens.

(I'm using Frontpage 2000 on a Windows ME.)

Whoever knows how to solve this is going to be helping two of us for the
price of one!

What happen when you use File Menu | Open Web and enter
http://www.yourdomainname.com and your login info?

Did you recently install any updates or switch ISP or service, etc?

I don't want to hijack this thread from the original poster, but I thought
we might have the exact same issue.

In my case: File Menu / Open Web / enter my URL gives me an error message:

"The folder http://www.mydomain.org isn't accessible. The folder may be
located on an unavailable volume or protected with a password."

The only thing I can think of that has changed since I was able to edit the
site is that I used Window Washer and a couple of other programs to try to
clean up my computer a bit. Haven't changed my ISP or web host.

Does this sound like I need to install a clean copy of Frontpage? If so,
can that be done from the web if I have a valid product key etc? Is there
someway to do a diagnosis to see if maybe a driver or some gadget for the
program is missing? (I know, this is really heavy tech talk here!)

(I guess this is not *identical* to "(e-mail address removed)" - please focus
on his problem if it is not the same "fix" for us both.)

Thanks for your help. Sorry if it distracted you from answering the
original question from pdesantis.

Tom,

Tom,

I went through the articles you provided and tried each fix. TweakIU didn't
work...ran down the list & found that the solution for me was to follow the
instructions at :
http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q272/5/42.ASP

Microsoft Knowledge Base Article - 287399

(On the Windows Start menu, click Run.
In the Open box, type the following:
frontpg.exe http://example.microsoft.com
where example.microsoft.com is the URL of your Web server.
Click OK.)

Thank you so much for your help.

You're quite welcome, Ogg.
I use the Jimco Open Web addin from www.jimcoaddins.com myself, and have
never had any repeated problems.

I have just found a very easy work around for this problem! Open the
web site you need to edit in IE. Next click on file and then edit
with FrontPage. Next the password window will come up and you are all
set.

Hope this works for all of you!!!
