Is this a 'special' character or in a different font?
Browsers for the most part only dispay characters from the
default font. You can place the character in a graphic and
then dispay that graphic.

° (hex 00B0, inserted from Insert, Symbol)

properties.

use "supertext" from the fonts menu use a small 'o'

I don't think there's an equivalent "Symbol" for the degree sign like the
copyright or trademark or registered trademark (r), (c), tm etc
