Publishing Report to Static HTML Page

I have just completed a report design that replaces what
was a difficult to manage Excel spreadsheet. The report
contains nine different subreports. We would like to
publish this report every month or so to 30-40 static HTML
pages.

In exporting the report to HTML, the result contains the
necessary data, but columns don't line up, extra lines
have not been removed, bolds and italics don't show up, in
other words, it is not usable.

Can someone tell me how I can produce a formatted report,
or point me in the direction of resources?

Thank you.

I would suggest you use an HTML printer driver. There are even a few
free ones on the Web.

Stephen,

Thanks for your response. I did a Google search, but I'm
not sure what you mean.

In the meantime, I've discovered exporting to a snapshot,
and then embedding the Snapshot Viewer ActiveX control in
a Web page. This seems a viable strategy, although a bit
clunky. If what you had in mind is more elegant, can you
provide more detail? Please keep in mind we're
professional estimators and project managers, but IT
amateurs!

Thank you for your help.

Just do a normal Web search for
HTML Printer Driver

You will find quite a few sites such as:
http://www.aureliasystems.com/

Finally, HTML Printer Drivers are idiot proof...no reflection on current
company!<grin>

Downloaded AureliaSystems product and ClicktoConvert last
night. Both easy to use, however, column alignment is
slightly off, seemingly only when bolded and non-bolded
text is in the same column.

Do you think it's worth exploring others? Otherwise, I'll
create one report version for the printer and another for
HTML.

Thank you for your help, and for your great website.

Best regards.

You can approach this two ways:
1. Every so often produce these report(s) and push the files to your web
server.
I would suiggest using PDF format.
2. Create the ability for your users to create this report "live" and have
the report
created into a pdf file at runtime and redirected to the user.

We make 2 products that are specifically designed for these two methods.

If you only need to manually create a PDF every so often just buy a PDF
printer driver
and print the report to PDF, otherwise look at our products for ways to
approach this problem.
You could also create ASP or ASPX pages to duplicate the functionality of
the report
(not sure how difficult this mnethod would be, it depends on the complexity
of the report).

Thanks, Mark, for your response.

Our need is the occasional (once every month or so)
publish. It is a complex report with nine subreports.
Turns out we have Acrobat Distiller which produced a .pdf
file nearly perfect, but with bolded RJ text not lining up
with non-bolded. Simple solution.

Moreover, however, I was curious as to why you'd recommend
publishing to .pdf instead of .html.

Thanks again.
