Publishing problems

When I try to publish, I keep getting the prompt for username and password.
I just noticed that in the "status" area at the bottom of the screen it says
" Opening web
site http://home.hot.rr.com/j/p/jpcantrell". The web site name is
"http://home.hot.rr.com/jpcantrell". Notice that for some reason an
additional "/j/p" was inserted. I have typed and retype the correct site
name in the remote web site properties but no luck. Does anyone know how to
fix this?

Have you contacted your host about the problem?

No I haven't. I can access the site on the host without any problems using
my browser.

Mine does this at times when my host is pretty busy. I can usually upload
after awhile.

Hi I have posted a similar problem, only I get extra w/e 's in my address. I
can't publish cause it wants me to create a new website with the extra
letters. If you resolve your issue, please let me know and I'll do the same.
Thanks

aaaahhhhh .... I just posted about the same thing. This is just some ISP
space the I use for work space and have been publishing to it forever. This
is the first time it's done this. In my location

http://home.carolina.rr.com/k/g/mywebspace

It's adding the /k/g/ and will not let me change it back. At least I know
I'm not alone.

:

at the bottom of the screen it says

Are all you hosted with Road Runner?

If so this is a Road Runner configuration issue based on something they must of recently changed,
you will need to work with them to resolve.

Dang Thomas I didn't even catch that when I read his post about the same
problem. Although we are on different RR networks ..... but it sounds like a
good possibility. I'm blow a email to their tech support right now

Thomas in looking through the post better ..... I'm not so sure it's a road
runner issue. I see it in other just here on the front page. They didn't say
what ISP they use though.

I'm still going to RR support with it, but already know I'm not going to
feel the love there. Is there any other direction I can be looking in that
you know of???

Thanks for you help

When you see these type of issues, it is *usually* an issue with the ISP/Web
Host.

I looked at the URLs that were provided and saw the "rr"
