We recently got the DSL with Bellsouth.net and I have networked PCs with
Linksys router. I have just noticed that I cannot Publish websites to the
web. I tried to just plug in my laptop to the Bellsouth modem and avoid
using the Linksys router but that did not help.

When I try to Publish, I get the password box and enter it and then I see
the two panes for the local and remote but they both remain blank and FP
seems to be hung.

I even tried disabling the EZTrust Lite firewall but that did not help.

Any suggestions please.

My web site host has not changed so I have not talked to them. My ISP has
changed but I am wondering about firewalls, modem. But I would expect to see
the local pane populated with my website from the pc. Too many changes have
happened that this may be difficult to isolate.

I did download the .NET with Windows Updates and install that so I don't
know if this might be related.

you may need to put the FP executable (the application file) in your
firewall exceptions list (i.e. those programs you allow to access the
internet.). Obviously FP requires net access as it publishes web sites.

Thank you. I think it is firewall related.

I too am having publishing problems. I get the password pane and remote site
panes opening up repeatedly no matter how many times I enter my information.
It seems to happen more at night whem Comcast updates their servers ( about
midnight) otherwise I can get in during the day. My experience with Comcast
is that only one in 4, on a good day, knows what their talking about.
