I have been having trouble publishing my web for several months now.
It appears to start to work, but then freezes up. After a minute or
two, I get an error message that the server unexpectedly closed the
connection. My other computer can publish the web successfully, taking
the same files over the LAN from the computer where I am having
trouble.

I am using FrontPage 2000. The web is www.cewriters.com, hosted by
GoDaddy. The problems seemed to start about the time I moved the My
Documents folder to a new hard drive.

Any ideas how I can fix this?

Thanks,
Cliff Lewis

You need to always publish the web from one location to another, never copy... this could be the
cause of your problem. The solution would be to open the live/remote site and publish that back to
your local machine.

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried it and it didn't change anything.

I just finished creating a new web for another site, and I am having
similar problems publishing it. I get an error message saying that
"The server sent a response which FrontPage could not parse." As with
the first web, I can open the same web with my other computer over the
LAN and publish it with no problems.

Sorry about the duplicate post. My original post appeared at first not
to have posted. After I submitted again I discovered that it was
appearing as a reply to a thread from June. I am not sure whether I
accidentally hit the reply button while looking at that thread or if
my newsreader applied it to that thread because it had the same
subject.

Thanks for the suggestion. I can't seem to publish back to my local
machine either. I get a message that the server closed the connection
unexpectedly.

If you are trying to publish the location on your machine where you placed the copy, try a new
location.
