I am trying to open my web via frontpage and get the following message: "The
folder 'https://www.burkelakeadventures.org/ isn't accessible. The folder
may be located in an unavailable location, protected with a password, or the
filename contains a / or \." I know this message to be fales because a
collegue of mine can open the site just fine on her computer. We have not
been able to determine what is different between her computer and mine. Does
anyone have any thoughts as to the problem? Settings perhaps that I don't
know about? Thanks

Go here: http://www.95isalive.com/fixes/fpclean.htm and download FP Cleaner ( with Expression Web and
SharePoint Designer support )
Download links are at the bottom of the page.
Run the functions that clear:
The Hidden Temporary files.
The Hidden Cache (*.web) files.

See if it helps.

also, what happens if you open the site in IE and then in IE click File > Edit with Expression Web?

Thanks and will try. RE: your second idea - I don't know enough to know what
IE is but I don't have Expression Web I only have Frontpage 2002.

IE = Internet Explorer (web browser).

You'll find posts on these groups contain a lot of acronyms and shortened
versions of names of applications.

Eg FF= Firefox, EW = Expression Web, FP = Frontpage, IE = Internet Explorer
etc.

I'm having the same problem (just one one machine). Did you ever figure out
what the differences were between the two machines?

What same problem? You snipped the text from the message you replied to.

I was responding to the original post (it works fine on my PC but not on
others ):

The folder "http://Website" isn't accessible. The folder may be located on
an unavailable volume or protected with a password.

These don't seem to apply to my situation. I can connect fine from one PC on
my network but not from others. I tried using Sharepoint Designer and got
the same.
