I'm trying to publish Acrobat Reader using a ZAP file (I guess it's the only
way). When a user goes to add/remove programs and opens the Acrobat Reader
choice it shows both the zap file and the executeable. When I click on the
zap file it opens it as a text document (yes, I did save it with a zap
extension and not as a text file). Also, when I open the executeable it
tells me that I don't have write permission to write to the chosen
directory.

However, the Microsoft Office installs great without the problems of
permissions. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks in advance.

Mitch,

Not exactly. With Adobe Acrobat Reader 6.0 there is actually an .msi file.
What you have to do is install Adobe Acrobat Reader 6.0 on a WIN2000 Pro
system ( I am sure that WINXP would be okay as well ). Once you have
installed it on that WIN2000 Pro there is a directory that holds the .msi
file as well as several other files. I do not remember the exact location
of the directory structure as I have not done it in awhile but there is
indeed a .msi file for this. It is a bit hidden. If you have a WIN2000
system available go ahead and install Adobe Acrobat Reader 6.0 ( from the
full file download, sure that it is okay from the other but I have always
done it from the full file download ). Then, simply search for *.msi and
you will find that directory.

This should get you on your way.
