Publishing Acknowledgements

Can anyone advise me how I can include a photographer's
credit with a picture, either in the properties or
attached to a picture so that if it is published it also
indicates the photographer's name?
 
Metadata.

Depending on your graphic application you are using - many let you edit the
metadata of a pic. If you wanna get really anal, I believe they may actually
put this info in the pic's header.
