Publishing a web

I have created what is essentially a subweb on the
corporate website in order to allow another person to
update their section's web presence. Unfortunately in
testing, I have not been able to publish to that portion
of the website and FrontPage is saying that it cannot find
the appropriate server extentions. Please clarify if
FrontPage requires the host server to have the extensions
if the section being published to is outside of the
document hierarchy of the main website. IIS sees the
subweb, but I also cannot convert to web in FrontPage or
apply security to it.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Robert

Hello,
I would check the permissions on the main web that is the subweb's parent. If you can modify the main web, you should have permissions to change the subweb also, even though the subweb might have additional logins/passwds. When you create the subweb, the FP extensions are installed on that subweb, so yes, you need to have the extensions installed on any of the webs you want to publish.

The subweb must be created within the root web via FP for FP to see and
access it.
