I would like to put into a slide a calendar I created in Publisher. How can
I do this? I am using PowerPoint and Publisher 2000.

Thanks

Sometimes Publisher creates rather large files. If this is the case, then
you will want to capture the output as a picture, rather than a publisher
file. Large files load slower and bog down PowerPoint.

There is no native way to export a Publisher 2000 file to a PNG, JPG, TIF,
or even BMP. So, you will have to resort to faking it. The easiest method
is to do a screen capture of the Publisher window with the calendar as close
to full screen as you can get it. Then edit the screen capture to trim the
frame out. Save the new image. Import the new image into PowerPoint.

You could also convert the image to a PDF file, if you have that software.

As a related aside, I mentioned GhostScript/GhostView in an earlier post.
This a really handy set of gadgets to add to the ol' toolkit.

The GhostView is a friendly front end to GhostScript, a kind of PostScript
swiss army knife-like program.

Among other things, you can use it to convert from PostScript to various image
formats, PDF and perhaps even WMF, though I'm not sure of that.

Since pretty much any program under Windows, Mac, *nix, and for all I know, the
sun can print to PostScript, this gives you a nearly universal way to get
output in PPT-useful format from just about any app.

Oh, and the price is very reasonable: $0.00
