When I was trying to publish from remote to local, publish log says '550 I
can only retrieve regular files' and doesn't publish.

What does this means? I failed to import from remote to local.

Can you please help?

550 is permissions related
- Where are you trying to download to (what OS and are your logged in as an Admin w/ permissions to add files)

Thanks for your quick response, Stefan. I was trying to download from Remote
to Local. Yes, it's my own website and has permission to add files. I was
trying to download using FTP.

Later on I tried publishing each file by right click from Remote to Local
where I found that 'Stats' file is what they call 550 and couldn't be
published though I have a separate password to access my stats, it didn't ask
me password to publish. I just moved all files to add/amend locally except
'stats'. Will this create any problem when I finally publish the site from
Local to Remote? Stats file still exist in Remote.

Please explain.

Create an identical folded named stats in your local site and convert it to a FP subweb so it won't need to be published

The server appears to be blocking one of the types of your files
- what file extensions are you uploading using FTP
- are you using FP FTP or a 3rd party FTP
(if there are any Thumbs.db in your images folder try deleting them)
