Front page 2002 wants to delete all the “vti” folder files – when I publish.
In other words, it keeps asking if I want to remove those files, because
they are on the destination server, but aren’t on the web. It asks me this
for each one, about 30 files.
I’ve posted screen captures for two different hosting providers. Could this
have something to do with where one hosting provider has installed the
server extensions?
The first photo is a provider that has installed the extensions in the
public folder. FP doesn’t ask me to delete the files when I publish, and
everything appears OK. The bottom photo is a provider who has installed the
extensions in the root folder. By “root”, I mean that I personally can’t go
to a higher folder.
Now, let’s suppose that the problem “is” because the one provider put the
extensions in the root folder. Can I simply create a public folder and move
the extensions there myself – without causing any problems?
