When i try and publish my web by clicking the publish
button in the "publish web" dialog box, a status popup
window box comes up and says "listing pages at
C:\mydocuments\my webs\text". It does not get past this
stage. Does anyone know what it is doing?

It's timing out.

Can you open the remote site directly in FrontPage? If
not, solve that problem and your Publishing problem will
likely disappear as well.

Otherwise, is the remote site fairly large? You might need
to break it into subwebs.

I agree with the timeout response, however, i am only
trying to put up a 5k test page with no images and only
two words of text so i dont understand what is taking so
long over a cable modem. Do you have any other ideas?

Bill

Try deleting all FP Temp files and all *.web files before opening FP, then running a Tools Recalculate hyperlinks before you publish
