Anyone have any good links, or step-by-step guides for setting up Windows
2000 Server as a public access kiosk workstation?
I'm setting up the computer in my vacation rental property so that my guests
can browse the web, but I want to prevent things like letting them change
the screen saver, or adding items to the desktop.
Basically, the Guest user should only be allowed to:
a) browse the web
b) run Word and Excel
c) print
d) upload files from their digital camera to their friends via whatever web
mail they're using (hotmail, yahoo, etc)
It should be locked down for everything else, so they can't change the
colors, screw up the hardware settings, add/delete programs, copy items to
the desktop. They shouldn't be able to do any of this.
I'm new to using gpedit.msc, and need some help. I want to make settings
that apply only to the Guest user, but leave the Administrator user with
it's own settings.
Thanks,
Scott
