pubic profiles and networking

I'm trying to access a network, and I've got it all set
up, except everything went to the defaults. The tech
support for the network explained that the problem was
because my profile was private, not public, which makes
sense to me. Unfortunately, it didn't tell me how to
change it, and I can't figure out how to either. Does
anyone know how to do that?
 
If you are talking about a roaming profile then that has
to be setup on the server. this allows you to create a
seup on 1 workstaiton within the network and then log
into another workstation on the network with your
username and password and have the same setup
