Also .PUB is the fileformat for MS Publisher.

"With Microsoft Office Publisher 2003 and older, Microsoft has not
created a Microsoft Publisher viewer, and currently there are no plans
to develop one. Only Microsoft Publisher can open Publisher files. The
only exception would be using Adobe PageMaker 6.5 and newer to open
Microsoft Publisher 97 and newer files.
(Click the link above for a list of suggested workarounds, each of which
require the person creating the .PUB file to convert it to another
format.)
