.pub Files

As I understand it, a .pub file is a Publisher file. From what I've read,
this is a MS format document. But what do I open it with? I've tried the
normal MS apps with no success.

You need Publisher to open a .pub file..there are no viewers for Pub files.

It could be, but look at the link Will provided. There are other
possibilities.

"Normal" MS apps? There are really no "normal" MS apps. Microsoft
sells a number of different applications; one of them is called
Microsoft Publisher (it's an entry-level desktop publishing
application). If this is a Publisher document, you need MS
Publisher to open it.

You already have the answer: you open it with Microsoft Publisher.
