I have DNS server for the mail server and web server we host for internet,
our domain can be resolve without any problem but just recently i can't send
to some domains, when i check the logs is says the mail server rejected or
mail because our server doesn't have PTR record but on our DNS there is a
PTR record for my mail server IP.

Am I asking the correct newsgroup? Thanks.

Close enough. It's a DNS and an EMail issue.

Give us those names.

Generally, the PTR record for the IP MUST point to the
same name as the SMTP server is configured to use and
that is used by the MX record.

A frequent mistake people make is to setup the MX with
one name, and the machine or the SMTP server software
with another.

This is especially likely if they use different internal and
external domain names OR if they support email for multiple
DNS zone/domain names.

If the PTR gives back: mail.company.com

Then the MX should be set to mail.company.com AND the
SMTP server must be told (in many cases) to use that
same name: mail.company.com.

But if the MX record for MyCompany.com points to:

stupidname.othercompany.com

....then the Email server should use that name;

stupidname.othercompany.com

.... and the PTR for the IP should give back:

stupidname.othercompany.com

If you mess up the above it will not always fail (won't
fail to all destinations) but it will be rejected when sending
to companies that enforce these rules.
