Ok..I have asked and been answered on this...but can
anyone give a few tech details.
The question: in a win2k peer-to-peer, it has been said
that there is a " ten connection " limitation. Not
computers, but connections. Ok this is clear. But, the
term " connections ", does that include any ip device on
the network? eg: ip printers?
2ND question: Why is there this limitaion, and what
happens when you go beyond 10 connections.
This is in a small business, and other than myself, the
other people know far less, so administering win2k3
server and using Term Serv, does not sit well with the
powers that be, although I have tried in vain to get them
to go this route. Thanks in advance for your comments.
Much appreciated, and perhaps I can go back to them and
persuade them that they require a server in the first
place.

the limitation is for win2k pro machine, make it simple, a
win2k pro machine allowed only maximum 10 connection "TO"
it at the same time.
For example, there is a shared folder in a win2k pro
machine, other computers with permission can connect to
the share folder but only up to 10 computers at the same
time, the 11th would receive error message when trying to
connect to it.
If the shared folder is on a server ( either 2k or 2k3)
there is no such limitation.
Maybe you are thinking a ptp network can only contain not
more than 10 machines, this is not the scope of limitation.
