PST import Problem

I have a PST file which I think was created using Outlook 2003, but cannot
be sure.

I am trying to import this PST into Outlook 2000.

Once I have entered where the PST is located and clicked next on the import
wizard, I get two error messages.

The first reads 'Properties for this information service must be defined
prior to use'.

When I click enter, the second error comes up which reads 'File access is
denied. You do not have permission required to access the file.'

The file however has the permission everyone full control.

I can open the PST successfuly using Outlook 2003 and so assume that this
issue isn't to do with permissions, but rather Outlook versions.

I cannot see a facility to export the PST from Outlook 2003 into a Outlook
2000 compatible file.

I can however create a new PST in a 97-2002 format and move the mails I need
from the other PST into this one. This new 97-2002 PST however gives me the
same errors when I try to open it in Outlook 2000.

Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

Make sure the file isn't marked read-only. Also you should probably get the
data out of the file by opening it with the File menu > Open > Outlook Data
file, then drag/drop the data you need into your current folder set

Outlook 2000 cannot access Outlook 2003 PSTs if they weren't created in
Outlook 97-2002 format.
