,pst folders/email

I have reset my email to a pst file/folder accidentally
and now have lost all emails that I had stored. They are
now in .dbx files that I cannot open. Does anyone know
how to open/recover these files and how can I switch back
to my original email settings?
 
Correction. The dbx files are from when I used Outlook
Express. I did find the files with my old email, but
cannot open them.
