I had Office XP on my computer then downloaded a 2003 trial version. Took
off trial and now when I try to open PST Folder I get this message:
Unable to display the folder. Microsoft Outlook could not access the
specified folder location. Could not open the item. Try again.

There is no information here.
"Took off trial" means what exactly? Spare us no detail.
"When I try to open PST Folder" means what exactly. Ibid.
How you installed the trial and how you reverted to an earlier version must
be specified.

I had Office XP, then put on a trial version of Office '03. Removed program
Unable to display the folder. Microsoft Outlook could not access thethrough the Control Panel - Add/Remove. Put Offixe XP back on. Registered
and everything seemed okay until I opened Outlook. I clicked on Outlook
Today - (Personal Folders) which was locaked in the Folder List box to the
left. When I click on that I get the message: Unable to display the
folder. Microsoft Outlook could not access the specified folder location.
Could not open the item. Try again.

I hope that is the info you need. Thanks, Russ.

How did you "remove" Office 2003? What instructions did you follow?
Normally one would create a new profile from scratch any time they change
Outlook versions. It is to only way to reconnect to your data file
correctly. In many cases, you must uninstall both the trial and the original
Office version completely, then reinstall the original to get things
working. I have no idea how this trial version should have been handled. I
trust you do since you must have read all the warnings very carefully.

Creating a new profile made me think I should run the Repair on Outlook. I
did and it worked. Go figure! Now, like so many others, I need to save my
Outlook contact from 2003 to 2002. So far I haven't been able to understand
the instructions.....maybe my brain is on overload! Thanks Russ!

I have a business and am adding new emails every 3 days. At home I use my
laptop (Office 2003), when I get to work I need to download them to my PC.
I'm almost sorry that my laptop came with 2003. Hmmmm....

"Download?" If you need to transfer data between Outlook 2003 and 2003, just
make sure you use a PST file in the older format (i.e., Outlook 97-2002).
