Hi there.

We currently run Outlook XP of an Exchange server. I had
a client whose PST file was 800+ Mb. We wanted to split
it up in 2003 and later and 2002 and earlier. Her folder
structure was huge so we couldn't just make it again.
What I did was copy the pst and rename it.

In one pst I did a search for sent/recieved items 2002
and before and deleted them. The other one I searhced for
items 2003 and later and deleted them. Now the problem is
the file size shows as still being over 800MB in Windows
explorer. When I check the PST file properties in Outlook
and check the folder size. One is around 300Mb and the
other 500MB. Why does outlook say one thing and windows
explorer say another? How can I resolve this?

Let me know.

Thanks.

Yurij

You have to purge the pst-file as well;
Rightclick the root of the folder-> Properties-> button Advanced-> button
Compact Now...
