I am running backups on PCs but there is a lot of wasted
space being consumed with junk emails. All I am aware of
is the .pst file in outlook. Is there a way to select
only certain folders, such as 'inbox', in Outlook and
avaoiding 'deleted items' or 'jokes'? I know that outlook
express does it.
If I can backup only the folders that I want, I can tell
the users to organize their emails.

In addition to the archive options mentioned by RegUK, you can create a new
PST and copy into it only those folders you wish to preserve.
