I'm looking for the *.pst file for Outlook 2k My search came up
empty. What I really want is the file to save my address book. I've
got to format and reinstall my software, but I don't relish the
thought of having to type all those names in again.

Use Outlook's 'export to a file' function and export the Contacts folder to
a .CSV file (Windows).

No need to export, really. What operating system are you using? If Win2k/XP,
make sure you select the option to search hidden/system folders when you
search.

Your address book is part of your main PST, where Outlook keeps all of its
information.

What OS? It's in a hidden folder in Windows 2000/XP - C:\Documents and
Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook

I'm using Win XP pro, and I did a search (hidden folders and all) and
came up empty. After reading another post from back in January, I
exported the contacts folder and then abra-ca-dabra it appeared. I
hope this file can be imported back to Outlook and I will then have my
address book info back when I re-install.

I have no problem importing the file, Russ.
