Dave H.

Thanks in advance.

I am always amazed at the remote requests but someone comes up with a
freeware program!

Try this one: I need a program that will read an Outlook PST file and
have an interface that is user friendly, as the ultimate user is
computer challenged.

I have googled this to death and can't seem to find a useful program.

Again, thanks,

Dave H.

Outlook?

If it isn't user friendly, maybe computer isn't for that ultimate
user. He or she should write mails with pen and paper.

(I mean, what's there to be complicated? New mail, reply, forward.)

To skip the mumbo-jumbo, I know Outlook isn't free, but where did that
pst file came from in the first place?

PST files contain all the emails and settings stored in each Outlook
profile. Some programs can import some or all of the data in these
files. I am unaware of any program that can *read* these files.

If your computer challenged user is just looking for a simple to use
email program, then you might try Thunderbird. You can import email and
some email settings from Outlook (no calendar) into it.

There are many 100+ page books about OUTLOOK on sale at several
bookstores in my area. The local Universities, and Community Colleges
feel it necessary to teach first semester students how to use OUTLOOK
(and other Office programs). I suspect this means that there is far more
to OUTLOOK that "New mail, reply, forward".
