pst file needing permission

Another user having problems getting my OE mail to Windows mail on Vista!

I have installed outlook on my vista box and copied my .pst file from XP to
a disc but when trying to import the file, I get an error message that reads
"File access denied. You do not have the permission to access file....." I
am the only user though......argggggh.....my time with Vista has been very
frustrating so far.

Pls help.....anyone..

You really need to ask this question in an Outlook newsgroup.

Jay,
Move the .pst file to your hard drive, preferably in a folder under
Documents for easy backup. Turn off the Read Only attribute. Then open
Outlook. In the File drop down menu, choose Open and then Outlook Data File,
browse to the .pst and follow the instructions.

Never import the pst files.
