PST file missing

I got a message when i open the outlook2000 that "c:\D.S\my doucuments\outlook.pst" could not be found. I did not delete any file. I try to search the file by all option but i could not find also. How cum the file disapears. It is not even in the recycle bin. The file size was also less than 200mb. I did not make any backup also. I was having all my contacts and my mails, schedules. Please help me to find the solution for this issue

I can't tell you how the pst-file disappeared but if you can't find the
pst-file, it's not in the Rcycle Bin and you don't have any back-ups; it's
gone.
