pst archive file in Outlook

I have a 3.5mb pst archive file but when I open it in outlook it does not
display any of the emails in it. Outlook just comes up with only an empty
deleted items subfolder in the archive folder. Please help me, I have very
important emails in that archive

Close the .PST file in Outlook. Close Outlook.
Run SCANPST on the .pst. (search your drive for SCANPST.exe)
SCANPST will repair PST files.
Open Outlook and add the PST file.
