In the latest version of the editor PSPad
e.g. "Noël, überhaupt, création" in an existing file
appear as
"No?, berhaupt, cr?ion"

I did not notice this in the previous version of PSPad I was using.
I.e. it now appears to have a problem with diacritics.
What to about it?

Just tried it and worked without a problem. Not sure why it's not working
for you. Have you tried opening the file in another editor, does it show the
text correct?

You'll probably get an answer from the developer at the forum at the PSPad
website.

I have not seen the entire thread, and perhaps this
answer has already been suggested: PSPad cannot
invent fonts. It depends on the fonts you already
have on your computer. If someone sends you a file
written with, say ... ARIAL.TTF, then the recipient
had better have that font on his computer in order to
see the file as constructed. Otherwise, like many
other clients, PSPad will substitute another font,
which may not have the same depictions. Many might,
but others will not.

Can PSPad use truetype fonts?

Earlier version could only use fixed fonts, sand I have not heard
anything about this new feature. So could you please check that fact once
more?

Oh, yes, indeed. Admittedly it is some small inconvenience, but easily
do-able. Upon installation, you will note a PSPAD.INI file. Within
that file you will find a heading called ... [FONTS]

Under that heading you merely change the COURIER NEW font to anything
else that may strike your fancy. Many people would like to have ARIAL.
So, just substitute ARIAL in both reference places. Your may also note
that ARIAL is the same as Lucida Console. I have not tried to insert
more than the one change, since I have no need for other than Courier
and Arial.

Oh, yes, indeed..... {snip}

I could find no joy in your suggestion. The fonts appear to be built-in,
and not changeable. You have confused PCPad probably.
