Hi all

I'm dying to show you PCUK folk pictures of testing my new rig

check these out:

check out what I did with orthos guys!


Here is how it looks...

Even with all those applications open hitting every single core the machine handles most applications well
but I think I need to upgrade
do you think another 32 GB will do it?

Can we have a picture of the masheen itself...also el dopo wants to know how many cores has it got.
I had a look at mine and its only got 2.....also i see your windows experience rating....whats goin on there??

Gotta be a server... I imagine the lack of a decent graphics proc is causing the Windows Experience Index Rating of 1
Go on... fit a decent graphics card and load something up

Dell R900 chassis

32 GB of DDR2 memory (chassis can support up to 256 GB of memory yes 256!!)

73gb SAS 15k drive

4 X Intel Quad 7340 Xeon Processors

Motherboard = I don't know

Graphics = on board VGA

The board has SEVEN PCI slots though lol

lol, why you install vista on a server?

Purely for testing purposes.

As you can see Vista will not recognise more than 2 X quad cores

this is because of a Microsoft Licensing. Vista only had a license for up to 2 X physical CPU's
a 3rd or a 4th would require a server OS.

I really did not understand that rating. Does it need to be connected to the internet for that? I did update it but as you can see only get 1.

Why not try using Linux Server Software on this beast..? You could get proper test results that way...
