Hello Turboace,

PSD files are usually layered files. If you have Photoshop, you can save
your files for inserting into PowerPoint. To save the entire PSD file as
one image, select File > Save as > (select Format) JPEG. (high/maximum
quality).

If you wish to save individual layers, perhaps for animating in PowerPoint,
turn off all other layers and select File > Save for Web. Save the image as
a PNG-24, with the transparency option checked.

There is an add-in available for purchase at www.pptxtreme.com, called
Photoshop Import, which enables you to import PSD files. You have the option
to choose which layers you want imported, the add-in converts them to PNG
files for you, and inserts them onto your slide.

Does powerpoint accept .psd file? Are there any issues with these?

Nope, PPT can't digest PSDs, so there are no issues at all. Other than "Can't
use 'em in PPT."

PNG or JPG are the best choices for most images.
