So here is the question, or the challange. How can I get my computer to play ps2 games. Now I figure that there is going to be no program in the world that is going to let me, well that unless its leaked from SONY (r) themselves. Can I take a PS2 apart and actually install the neccesary hardware in my tower, I already have a DVD +/- RW drive, and I'm sure my graphics and system can handle the games, so what would I need to do??

Nope, I'm afraid you can't. There may be a PS2 emulator at some point in the future, but that is likely to be a while away.

If you just want to play it on your computer monitor, that is possible :) You can get a VGA adaptor for the PS2, or you can use a TV input on your PC if you already have one (lower quality via this method).

Hmm ok, it was mostly a thought, but I'm going to look into it some more, but in the end you'll probably be right it won't be worth the effort, then again, it be cool bragging rights.

All a ps2 game is, is a DVD. So there is no reason why, with the right software, you cant play them. Try the link Techy posted.

getting an emulator is easy, getting a game to work with it is the hard part i've tried in the past but the emulators may be better than they used to be

If you have any luck with emulation Raje, I would be really interested in your findings. Please let us know how you get on.

In time I will get back to that, ummm... computer is under construction so no software till thats done... then again maybe I'll rip the stupid console apart now and do it, I figure that they'll be a board inside of some sort, so installing that may be the hardest part, I've got the DVD +/- RW so I should be able to read the game, but maybe I'll just mod in the whole console. controller port and all, my new case is big enough. Gonna check the PS2 website now to see the inside of a console.
