Just put together a computer using the A7N8X-X mobo.Installed latest bios
(1010).Hooked up Floppy & HD.
Have partitioned HD (Seagate 120). Have not installed OS yet. Computer boots
up, but PS2 mouse is not functioning. If I hook up a USB mouse, it works.
Is there a setting in the BIOS that I should change or ????

Thanks

There is a three pin header in the upper left hand corner of the
board. It is labelled "KBPWR1". That header makes a power selection
for the mouse and keyboard. Make sure there is a jumper on the
header, in either position 1-2 or 2-3. If the jumper is missing
entirely, the keyboard and mouse won't get any power.

Other than that, I don't know what to suggest.

AND the keyboard and mouse WILL get power regardless of the jumper
position.........
That I do know as I build systems and loads of times I have changed the
position of that jumper and the keyboard and mouse work either way.

The only thing that will not happen if that jumper is changed over IS that
you cannot wake the pc from standby by pressing a key..............
Why do you think it is called KEYBOARD WAKE UP????

DO you have the PS2 mouse in the RIGHT connector socket?
Looking at the connectors from the back, PS2 MOUSE is right connector and
PS2 keyboard is left one, OR green =mouse, purple =keyboard.

Nero - What happens if you remove the jumper entirely ? That is
what I said. If the jumper is removed, there is no power flowing
to the keyboard/mouse connectors. As long as a jumper is present
on the header, it will get power.
