My Microsoft Internet Keyboard & Microsoft Mouse are legacy PS2 devices that
I connect to the PC through a "double PS2 socket to one USB adaptor" but the
special/extra "Internet" buttons on the keyboard don't work and can't be
programmed. Is thre a new driver somewhere?

Yes. It should have shipped with the keyboard.

If you can't find it, try www.driverguide.com.

It asks for a user name and password, but since everybody gets the same
one....

User: driver2
Pass: all

Since the keyboard wasn't designed to function the way you have it hooked
up, you may not get them to work.

1. Verify you have installed KB908531. If yes, do the following. If no,
stop.
2. Create a restore point to allow you to get back to where you were in case
your keyboard can not be programmed.
3. Uninstall Windows Update KB908531.
4. Control Panel > Printers and Other Hardware > Keyboard
There should be a "Buttons" tab that provides the means to program keyboard
buttons.
