Hi All,

I have a machine running Windows XP MCE and whenever i shut the PC down it powers itself back up if the keyboard or mouse are touched! Any ideas what might be causing this and how i can stop it! I have checked the options in the BIOS and can't find anything to do with it!

Thanks

Hi Guys,

I am still having this issue, it's anything that is connected to a PS2 port will reboot the machine if touched once it has shutdown. If i plug a USB Keyboard and Mouse in it works fine. Obviously this is a work-around not a fix though!

Any thoughts at all?

The option to control this would have to be in the BIOS - are there any "WAKE ON ..." settings in there?

It could be under ACPI settings. If there isn't anything, perhaps try upgrading the BIOS :)

HI Ian,

Yes there are "wake on" settings in the BIOS, however none of them say anything about PS2 ports and i have disabled all of the other "wake on" features too. That was my guess on this problem too...
