LS,

I want to build an AT server with this specs:

ASUS TX97-e
K6-III+ @ 450 MHz (6 x 75)
256 MB SDRAM
1x Floppy
1x IDE CDRW
1x 4,3 G IDE HD
2x 9 G SCSI HD
1x SCSI tapedrive

3com NIC, AHA2940 SCSI, Matrox Millennium VGA

Is a standard 200 Watt AT PS sufficient? It will run 24/7.

Thanks,

Mike.

No:

A 300Watt PS is more apropos and "good" cooling.

Probably yes, assuming the caps are still in good shape.

Assuming...

ASUS TX97-e 10w
K6-III+ @ 450 MHz (6 x 75) 50w
256 MB SDRAM 2w
1x Floppy
1x IDE CDRW
1x 4,3 G IDE HD 30w
2x 9 G SCSI HD 60w
1x SCSI tapedrive 30w
3com NIC, AHA2940 SCSI, Matrox Millennium VGA
15w
------------
197w

I'd say it is underated for system running 24x7.

Okay, thanks guys.

I agree it is close to the edge indeed. I already thought so :-)

I have 2 small power supplies from external disk enclosures left. I can fit
those in the server to feed both SCSI disks. That will probably give the AT
PS enough headroom.

Regards,

Mike.
