ps/2 keyboard frozen after installing express service pack 4

i installed the express service pack 4 last night (because
my video card said i needed it to use the new drivers) but
when i restart my pc i get to the point where the windows
2000 splash screen appears (right after the dos screen
saying windows is starting hit f8 blah blah blah)at this
point my keyboard freezes out and i cant put in my
password. i tried disconnecting and re-connecting it.. the
lights come on saying it detected the connection but then
it just doesnt work, i can't type anything.
 
I really don't have a straight answer, but I experienced
the same thing with the express SP4. I rebooted and was
able to get the board to work some. However, just to be
safe, I ordered the complete Sp4 on disk ($10.00) from
microsoft and got the real deal. No problems since.
