Whoever supplied the Don'tCacheProxy.reg file - they have an error:

All is on one line when "EnableAutoProxyResultCache"=dword:00000000 should
be on the last line. There is also a speach/quotation mark at the end of 0.

Where did you get such a file?
Please supply that information and the contents of the file so we can
know what you are talking about as your post makes no sense to me.

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

I will try again.
Where did you get such a file?

Your post of the contents of the file here is not of a valid format
for a .reg file, so please try again.

That's what I mean - that's why it does not work. I don't know where I got
the file otherwise I would go to there website.

Why not either correct or add the value manually?
Here is what the .reg file should look like (be aware it will wrap
here at the space in Internet Settings, so make that one line)

-------------
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet
Settings]

"EnableAutoProxyResultCache"=dword:00000000

I already have. But I don't have a blank line between Settings] and "Enable.
My one seems to have cured the problem of not blocking valid pages and
blocking ad and other pages in IE. It took a while to realise the reg file
was at fault. The message was intended for the author of the file (which I
have no record of). Looks like I don't need to use firefox/netscape/opera -
too many sites only work properly with IE and this is just about the only
problem I have with IE. The other is it won't remember passwords for some
sites that the other browsers do.
