Proxy server in domain and home

Hello,
we have some portables who are used at work and at home. When he is used in
our network the the proxy settings are OK. (configured by our GPO). When they
are at home they have the same proxy settings but no proxy server so they
can't surf on the internet. Is there a way to change the proxy settings when
not connected to the network. There is an option to switch the firewall on
and of if connected but can you do this with with the proxy settings?

Mark Heitbrink [MVP] advises to use WPAD to "deploy" proxy information
across the network in scenarios like yours. You may find a lot of sites
when searching for it on google. Here's a point to start from:
