Hi,
We currently use Proxy Server 2 at our
organization I am having DNS issues when I install the
Proxy client on a XP Pro workstation. DNS does not
function on the Domain once the client is installed. If I
remove the Client DNS will function as per normal. Does
anybody know about any compatibility issues with XP Pro
and Proxy server 2? I have searched the net over for
answers on this issue but have not found a thing.
Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Jonathan

I use a similar set up at home, running Proxy 2 on a Win 2k machine (which requires a service pack upgrade to proxy 2 to get it function correclty).

Without knowing the way you have things configured I will just lay out a couple key points on what I had to do (whether or not they were the correct things to do is a different issue). First I had problems with the Proxy client setup modifying my IE conneciton settings to use a proxy even if I had the server configured not to do so. Second I have configured it to use a machine name (\\server) but to make that work I had to create a hosts file and point the machine name to the IP address of the server. (I tried configuring to use an ip address directly and could not get it to work reliably). finally I was unable to get it to work reliably without confiuring Netbui on my machines.
