Hello

I'm looking for a way to push a particular proxy server address to clients (IE Proxy) based on their location...so users in one city will have a different proxy that those in another. I haven't seen a way to do this with Group Policy, etc and we don't use ISA server

What is the best solution for us? Thanks in advance for any help.

The best solution is actually to use GPO. You may have an AD Structure by
location so you can but different GPOs to an OU for each location, You can
also assign a GPO to an site object.

User Configuration Node:

Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Internet Explorer\
Disable caching of Auto-Proxy scripts

Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Internet Explorer\
Display error message on proxy script download failure

Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Internet Explorer\
Disable changing proxy settings

Computer Configuration Node:

Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Internet Explorer\
Make proxy settings per-machine (rather than per-user)

Thanks for the insight Chris - those are useful settings, but I still don't see a place where I can actually put in the IP address to assign as the proxy via Group Policy. Would so sort of script be our only option here

User Configuration\Windows Settings\Internet Explorer
Maintenance\Connection\Proxy Settings\
