Have a small home network. Desk top in upstairs home
office and laptop in on main floor. Desktop runs Win2K
Laptop runs XP Home. Have shared all drives on both
computers. Want to beable to have access to files on the
desktop located in C:\Documents and settings\and all sub
directories.

I have shared the folder and given full permissions, yet
can't access files in folder from Laptop. My goal is to
be able to import favorites from thej desktopto the laptop
and visa Versa.

Can anyone help?

Thanks,

Don

I'm assuming that you don't have a domain set-up, and are using a local
workgroup instead (default name is WORKGROUP, unless you changed it). In
this setup, you will need to create identical user accounts on both
machines, i.e. if you login as "Bob" with a password of "whoopie1" on one
computer, then the other computer will also need to have the same account
with the same password created on it and vice versa.

I'm not as familiar with XP Home, but these instructions work for Win2K PCs.
