Good Morning.

Yesterday I was lucky enough to get Bob Phillips help on
a time sheet and it now operates just as I had hoped.

I have only one more problem: I have protected the
sheet, except for the areas that need to be filled in. I
then posted the template in a Workgroups folder so that
everyone (65+) can use it.

95% of our users have Office XP and there is no problem,
but a small number still have Offfice 2002. Because the
sheet is protected - it does not seem to recognize the
cells that should be unprotected and therefore they are
unable to use the sheet at all.

Is there a way around this.

Thank you for your help and a really BIG thank you to Bob
Phillips, who ended twoweeks of agony for me.

Office XP = Office 2002 ??

What protection did you put on the cells - Just protect sheet and take the
default, or did you specify any of the new protection options in XP

Office XP = Office 2002

Assuming they have Office 2000, then you can manually select the cells/range
that is supposed to be accessible
Select them and then do format>cells>protection and uncheck locked, now
protect the sheet

Sorry - I didn't explain that very well - did I?

They have 2000, not 2002

on the time card, the users will need to fill in the time
slots, but I don't want them playing around with the
formulas so as is available in 2002, I can protect the
sheet, but allow users to make changes in only certain
specified cells. But that does not translate into 2000.

Should do - That is basic protection. The default state of every cell is
locked, though this has no effect until the sheet is protected. Individual
cells can be locked/unlocked however you like, but this has not changed in any
recent versions. There are a number of other changes, but I wouldn't think they
apply here. Are you able to mail out a copy of the sheet in question as I have
both and can try it here. You would need to take the NOSPAM bit out of my email
address.
