Is there a way to prevent changes and/or printing when you
send a file to someone else? I deal with copyrighted
material that we send to contracted instructors and i need
to disable their ability to copy and edit what i send them
on CD. Is this possible? Or - is there a way to use a
Macro to have something show on whatever they print from
it without it showing when displayed on a projection
screen?

Thanks for your help!

If you have PowerPoint 2002 or 2003 you can password the presentation. For
earlier versions see:

They have to be able to open it and show it on a
projection screen to teach the course. Will this let them
do this and still protect it?

Thanks

Yes. You can test this yourself. Assign a "Modify" password, but don't
provide the password. That forces them to open it in "read only" mode and
it can be played in slide show mode, but it cannot be edited.

That would be great. Would it restrict their ability to
print? I went to one of the sites you suggested
previously and I just tried to send a small file to .pdf
to file and it turned everything to black and white. Do
you know why this happened? Everything i do is in color.

Thanks

Thanks for all your help! I will go there and check it
out. It sounds like that may be the way for us to go if i
can fix the color problem.

Thanks again,

If you still need help with that, c'mon back and start a new thread.

Mention what version of Office you have and what software and version you're
using to create the PDF.

You might also want to try the free Prep4PDF demo at www.pptools.com
It saves a lot of time/trouble when converting interactive presentations from
PPT to PDF
